With the weather warming up, we are all digging out our favourite sandals and flip flops ready to bear our tootsies to the world! If you are anything like me, you may have slightly neglected your feet over the colder months, so they may be looking a little worse for wear. Here are our top tips for how to get rid of dry skin on feet!
The skin on our feet needs warm water to soften and make it easier to remove the dry skin. Soak your feet in some warm water with a few drops of your favourite essential oils and a few spoons of Dead Sea Salts or Epsom Salts. Depending on the condition of your feet, choose 2 or 3 of these oils to help get your feet back to their optimum health.
Sometimes feet need a little manual exfoliation to really exfoliate away any rough patches. I love using the Botanicals Foot Scrub to slough away any dead skin cells. Once you have soaked your feet in the foot bath for a few minutes and the skin is nice and supple, grab a little of the foot scrub and vigorously rub onto the heels and balls of your feet. Keep working this in until the granules have completely dissolved. Then place your feet back into the foot bath for a further few minutes to rinse off any remaining granules.
This scrub contains 100% natural ingredients, with a blend of potent essential oils that work their magic on dry skin. Shea Butter helps to intensely moisturise, whilst Dead Sea Salt scrubs away dead skin and contains nutritional elements to detoxify and replenish lost minerals.
Massaging in a really good, hydrating moisturiser is going to rehydrate and smooth over any rough areas. Botanicals Foot Balm will leave your feet feeling soft, moisturised and refreshed. Dry off your feet and massage this in, concentrating on the balls of your feet and your heels. The jojoba oil will help to fight off any infections and heal cracked skin, whilst Shea butter keeps feet feeling soft and smooth.
Take care when standing up after applying this product as your feet will feel quite slippery! You could try wrapping your feet in cling film to help the nutrients absorb into the skin better, or wear cotton socks if you are applying before bed.
