Autumn Skincare Tips to Help you Break Up with Summer
A change in weather often sparks a change in how our skin behaves. As the weather cools off for the Autumn months, many people find their skin might start looking a little dull, and in need of some extra TLC. That Summer tan has started to fade and many of us drink less water due to it not being so hot outside. So optimising hydration and adding in extra layers of moisture can really help to boost that glow!
Get your glow back
The cold weather and central heating can make our skin lose its usual natural glow. The drop in humidity also means drier air which can end up making our skin look less than healthy. To put the glow back in your skin, try a gentle exfoliator that helps to resurface the top layer of your skin, and reveal the fresh skin underneath. The Mukti Organics 2-in-1 Resurfacing Exfoliant contains AHA fruit acids that penetrate the top layers of the skin, dissolving dead skin cells and letting the glow shine through. It also contains jojoba esters (round jojoba beads that do not tear or rip the skin), that manually exfoliate the skin as the product is massaged onto the skin. This helps to eliminate dead skin cells and renew the skin.
A gel like cleanser that gently removes makeup and impurities offers a gentle way to cleanse your skin without stripping it of moisture. As the weather turns colder, keeping your skin feeling soft and supple by using a non foaming cleanser will really help if you suffer with dryness. Kjaer Weis have released their Cleanser that is balancing, soothing and calming for the skin. Use this cleanser in the morning to refresh your skin and prepare a soft, supple canvas for makeup application that doesn’t feel dry or tight. Use in the evening and remove all traces of makeup, excess oil, dirt and grime from the day.
Up the hydration
We tend to drink slightly less water as the weather cools down, and this can really affect our skin. Using a topical hydration product will ensure your skin is getting enough and stay looking fresh and dewy. We love the Luxe Botanics Marula Hydrating Serum for a burst of essential hydration that effortlessly absorbs into the skin. This is an oil based serum so it works with the skin’s natural texture to balance the oil production and improve the overall look and feel.
There is nothing better than relaxing on a cold evening in a hot bath with a face mask. Absolute bliss! Masks are a great way to get tons of nutrients into your skin, and with regular use can really transform your skin. The anti-pollution Natura Miracle Mask from Nini Organics is one of our favourites for applying before relaxing in the bath. It’s a clay based mask so the steam from the bath helps to keep it moist and active for longer (did you know you aren’t meant to let clay masks dry?!). The superfoods in this mask, such as neem and spirulina help to get the circulation going in your skin and bring it back to life.
Don’t put the SPF away just yet
Yep, it’s still important to use SPF on a daily basis, even when it isn’t 25c outside. Okay..maybe if its pouring with rain outside you can skip a day! But even if it’s a cloudy day and you are spending a lot of time outside, using a low SPF will help to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays. Mukti Organics have a daily moisturiser with an SPF that is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. If you want to add a little coverage, the Mukti Organics Tinted Moisturiser with sunscreen helps to even out the skin tone and provide sun protection. The luxuriously silky, mattifying texture makes it ideal for use under makeup as it doesn’t add any grease or slippery feel that might cause your makeup to slide off. It is also rich in Vitamin C to add a brightening effect to the skin, and antioxidants to keep your skin looking its best.
